More About Me
I moved to Charlotte County from Arkansas with my mother and 2 of my brothers in 1964 and attended Charlotte High School, graduating in 1966. Drafted soon after high school and served 2 years in the U.S. Army, serving in the Republic of Vietnam in 1968. I returned to Charlotte County and went to work for FPL in April of 1969 as a meter reader, working into the office to assist customers on the counter and on the phone. I transferred and spent 5 years in Naples, returning to Punta Gorda in 1981 as Assistant Customer Service Supervisor. I became active in local not for profits by volunteering at the YMCA and was one of the founding members of their Y̢?Ts Mens Club and served as President for a number of years. I also was co-chair of the first Walk-America in Charlotte County with a supervisor from United Telephone Company. I volunteered with the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce̢?Ts Christmas Parade Committee, serving as Chair of the committee, among other positions. I have always tried
